A taste of the masculine...

Hi everyone!

Today I'm pleased to announce Studio Sidhe's participation in the first Menswear Monday event! :D

Basically the deal is that for one day only men can choose from a selection of creations and designs from some awesome SL brands at a price that won't make them cry...EVERYTHING there is 100L or UNDER :D

I LOVE this as I have often thought the men of SL do get somewhat forgotten... and I admit that while I have almost always had items for men in store, it's a long time between mens releases... I do however let myself off the hook there somewhat as my store name *is* Studio SIDHE (pronounced SHEE) heehee Even so, Men have for years been requesting I make more mens stuff and so, I've made this pose prop...especially for men...

PLEASE help...

For those of you that don't know, I'm an Aussie... How you could have missed that, I'm not quite sure, cause I'm proud to be Australian, one of the things that makes me so proud is that when we see people in trouble, in need of a hand, we help them out. It doesn't matter where they're from, if we know them or not, or even if we have some personal connection to them... That's what we're known for, that we care.

Now we're asking you to help out the poor bastards in Victoria, you've probably seen it by now, there is one rip roarer of a bushfire going through that state, and it's merciless... It's killed nearly 200 people at the time I write this.

Thanks to Autumn Hykova & Dakota Buck, there is now a Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Relief Appeal in SL. You can find a donation booth in my store, and heaps more around the grid as more and more people jump on board. And you can also purchase the pendants I recently released (see below). 100% of proceeds from these sales is going to the relief fund. If all that is not for you then I encourage you to donate directly to Australian Red Cross .

:+:Studio Sidhe:+: rant, ramble and update

Last night I released my new bone & silver engraved jewellery sets, all very exciting... I always get excited when I make something that just works :) Especially atm as my RL work is beyond crazy and full on... so to come home, make a coffee and place a couple of hundred prim beads is kinda therapeutic LOL

Anyways, I sent out note cards to my update group, and Fashion Trend... FashCon notice to come... and was all *happy dance*

Then today at work I found a minute to check my sl email account, to find a couple of offliners, which at the time I was thinking "hmm, random". Saying that they (the sender) had visited my store after receiving the notice only they couldn't actually find my new releases!

For those of you reading this who have sl businesses, you'll get that it's not unusual to receive some very interesting IM's, and in my case, for those of you who have not visited my store (/me wonders who YOU are! LOL), my store is actually ruins, with vendors hung in trees. So yeah I get a few VERY interesting IM's I guess cause my store isn't a conventional build LOL. But generally people like it, in any case I love it, so all good.

Didn't think too much of it, and figured I would just reply to the person when I got home and give them directions...all sorted. But then I got home, logged in, to find that the sim had at some point after I put the new releases out had been reset... no new funky bone jewellery in site... the offliners began to make horrible sense =/

The piccy above I did after sorting out the debacle, I think it captures just how I was feeling at the time *shrugs*

If you've read down this far, your probably wondering what the point of the ramble is... LOL fair enough! It's to tell you that the vendors ARE back up at the Main Store AND I've since listed everything on Xstreet AND OnRez... Back up is always good!

Okay... this one is for ladies and men and has taken 3 weeks! Yup it's true... but when you see the pics you'll see why! 2 weeks to get the textures right (why do sculpties have to be soooo hard to texture well???) And a week of placing somewhere in the vicinity of 500 prims (crazy I know! but this is SL beading! LOL) for the whole ladies set.

These sets feature original textures in bone and engraved silver on leather thonging to give these pieces a native American inspired flavour :D

New this week at Studio Sidhe, we have some fun and bright friendship bracelets for both the ladies and the men!

Don't know about you, but I made a gazillion of these growing up, I had a safety pin almost constantly attached to bunch of brightly coloured threads knotting these little gems up!

Now I'm a *cough* grown up, I've found myself making them again, only this time in photoshop... yup! this is another of my own painstaking textures... I get to say painstaking cause I placed each individual knot on the base texture! LOL

To help make things easier, these bracelets are of course mod/copy and I've put two different sizes in, so try each to see which suits better and mod from there :D

I'd like to thank HeZkeZl Slade, who is a mad scripting genius and a good mate, for helping with this one! Anyone who knows me, knows that I nearly go fetal at the very thought of scripting anything... Hez was wonderful, helped me problem solve and fixed things so that these beads could changed between 30 textures! (no easy feat!!!)

New Release: Men's Leather Case

A couple of days ago I released this case, and I must say that it’s reception has been very warm indeed!

I am very proud to present this new piece; the textures are rich and full of realistic detail to be an accessory that will add a sense of casual style to your avatars ensemble.

The texture is complemented by fine prim work buckles and findings are done in a warm bronze texture to complement the rich leather. When I conceptualised this case I researched and took guidance from prominent SL fashionista’s with the view of creating a piece that was a meeting of old-world style and modern chic… whether or not I hit the mark on that one, I will let you be the judge!




I  love this case and am currently in the planning phase for a black case and perhaps later a reddish hue. I have taken to wearing it around a lot myself LOL, proving that stylish accessories, while made with a particular gender in mind, can look great on anyone!

I hope you enjoy wearing this case as much as I have enjoyed making it… this truly has been a joy with everything just seeming to come together.
